About The Position

We are looking for a highly experienced Power BI Embedded BI Solution Architect to support a client-facing reporting modernization initiative. The role will focus on designing and solving complex Power BI integration, embedding, performance, security, and external user reporting challenges within the client's digital ecosystem. The client currently has external users accessing reports through a client-facing website (PSW) and is migrating from the existing OAS/OBIE reporting platform to Power BI. The selected SME will provide deep architectural guidance, evaluate open design challenges, run focused proof-of-concepts, and recommend scalable solutions for highly complex client-facing BI scenarios. This is not a standard Power BI developer role. The client is seeking a senior SME who can operate as an expert advisor, solve difficult BI architecture problems, and bring industry experience from similar enterprise BI modernization programs.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in Power BI, especially Power BI Embedded and external client-facing implementations.
  • Experience integrating Power BI reports into web applications/portals.
  • Experience building reusable embedded analytics frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of DirectQuery, Import, and Hybrid data models.
  • Hand-on experience with Snowflake and large-scale data environments.
  • Strong knowledge of data-tier security and user-level access control.
  • Experience optimizing report performance for high-volume external users.
  • Expertise in semantic layer design and data modeling strategies.
  • Ability to design solutions for large data exports, paginated reports, and custom reporting needs.
  • Strong understanding of M query parameters, filtering techniques, and potential risks.
  • Proven ability to solve complex BI architecture problems and provide scalable solutions.
  • Knowledge of UI abstraction patterns for embedded BI.
  • Experience with multi-tenant reporting architecture.
  • Experience migrating from Oracle Analytics Server (OAS)/OBIEE-like platforms to Power BI.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with financial services client reporting platforms.
  • Experience with external wealth brokerage institutional client portals.
