Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
  • Candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance.
  • This position requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing.
  • 7+ years of experience in power electronics design and development
  • Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams
  • Strong knowledge of electrical standards, safety compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CE), and documentation
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and simulation tools
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or nuclear industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
  • Active Q clearance is strong preferred.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of electrical power and electronics engineers/technicians
  • Oversee design, installation, and maintenance of facility electrical power systems (480V/240V distribution, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, generators)
  • Own electrical standards, safety compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CE), and documentation
  • Provide engineering support for machine-level electrical systems: power distribution, drives, controls electronics, sensors, and wiring
  • Partner with Facilities, Manufacturing, and Automation teams on equipment installations and upgrades
  • Lead root-cause analysis for electrical failures, downtime events, and equipment reliability issues
  • Ensure electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC/electronics interfaces are maintained and updated
  • Manage external contractors, integrators, and vendors as required
  • Drive continuous improvement in power reliability, energy efficiency, and electrical safety
  • Provide capital project support including scope development, design review, and commissioning
  • Serve as Electrical Authority Having Jurisdiction
