This role involves leading and delivering managed remote infrastructure services, including requirements gathering, data collection, capacity planning, performance analysis, configuration, quality assurance, and technical risk assessments. The specialist will provide technical support, identify and resolve issues, and manage incidents, problems, and changes for assigned tasks. Hands-on experience in IBM Power Systems PowerVM Virtualization, Virtual IO Server technologies, Storage virtualization, Network Virtualization, VSCSI, and Virtual Fiber Channel (NPIV) is required. The position also involves working effectively with customer cross-functional teams, conducting technical presentations and demonstrations, and supporting patching customer environments during business change windows, including after-hours and on-call support.

Requirements

• University degree/diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or an equivalent education program, with 8+ years of relevant IT experience
• 10+ years of hands-on experience with IBM AIX administration
• Strong expertise in IBM PowerVM virtualization, including LPAR/VIOS setup and management
• In-depth experience with Hardware Management Console (HMC)
• Familiarity with IBM Power9/Power10 hardware architecture and lifecycle management
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
• Knowledge of SAN/NAS storage and NPIV zoning in virtualized environments
• Experience in high-availability and disaster recovery configurations
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and enterprise change management practices
• Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) on Power
• Strong verbal communication skills and excellent technical writing skills
• Strong team player and enjoys working in a fast-paced team atmosphere
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments and projects
• Ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and through documentation
• Must be able to grasp highly technical concepts quickly, develop content, and independently document concepts and procedures for target audiences
• Demonstrate personal leadership through positive and professional communication
• Work independently to deliver on assigned tasks and responsibilities with quality and accuracy.
• Manage time and effort to effectively deliver on commitments, tracking time where necessary to fulfill services reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage AIX operating system, VIOS, LPARs, storage and file systems, virtualization, high availability cluster (PowerHA/HACMP)
• Support hardware such as IBM Power Systems and HMC.
• Support IBM Power Systems virtualization.
• Perform LPAR migrations between IBM servers
• Utilize knowledge & experience with AIX OS, software and hardware life cycle.
• Perform vulnerability management, patch management.
• Perform capacity and performance monitoring and management.
• Installation and configuration of latest version of HMC
• AIX and Linux (RHEL and SLES) on IBM Power systems: installs, upgrades, and migration.
• Actively contribute within your team and GHS through tangible contributions to process development, quality improvements, operational efficiency and other business improvement projects.
• Achieve and maintain advanced certifications in the products and technologies assigned to you
• Demonstrate technical leadership through teaching, coaching and support of other technical team members
