About The Position

The Powder Coating Technician position is responsible for preparing propane tanks for powder coating, applying the coating using a handheld spray gun, loading racks into the oven, monitoring the curing process, and inspecting the final product for quality. This role also involves understanding and maintaining powder coating equipment, troubleshooting issues, cleaning workstations, and adhering to relevant laws and regulations. Requirements

High School diploma or GED
Employment is conditional on verification of clean driving record, background check(s), and pre-employment/random drug testing
Forklift certification
Communication skills
Technical and mechanical skills
Capable of working independently

Responsibilities

Properly prepares propane tanks for powder coating
Applies powder to tanks using a handheld spray gun ensuring an even distribution of coating with a uniform finish
Loads racks into the oven, monitors oven timing and temperature to ensure proper curing
Inspects final product for quality of coating
Understands the operation of and performs maintenance on all powder coating equipment, adjusting as needed for optimal performance
Troubleshooting and problem-solving
Regular cleaning and upkeep of work stations
Understands all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes pertaining to the maintenance of tanks and propane equipment
Operate forklift to transport tanks from one area to another if needed
