About The Position

The Powder Coat Technician selects, mixes, and applies paints or chemicals to various surfaces using application devices such as spray guns. The role is based in a fast-paced, high-technology manufacturing environment and works across all levels of the organization in a matrix structure. The position is full-time, on the day shift, in Austin, Texas.

Requirements

• One to two years of related experience preferred, or equivalent.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, washing, and pretreatments.
• Good knowledge of the mechanics and repair of painting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow principles and practices of powder coating application.
• Prepare and match colors, and mix primers, paints, and coatings to the proper consistency and viscosity using thinners, solvents, additives, and agitators as required.
• Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects.
• Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality through visual inspections or by using viscometers.
• Ensure components are coated efficiently and consistently meet company quality goals and customer order on-time performance.
• Clean and maintain equipment properly.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
• Follow quality service and safety standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
