About The Position

As a Powder Coat Technician, a coating technician selects, mixes and then applies paints or chemicals to various surfaces utilizing different application devices, like a spray gun, to perform their duties. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high technology, manufacturing environment and works well in a matrix structure across all levels of the organization.

Requirements

• One to two years related experience or equivalent.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash and pretreatments
• Good knowledge of the mechanics and repair of painting equipment

Responsibilities

• Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application
• Prepare, match colors and mix standard and other primers, paints and coatings to proper consistency and viscosity, using thinners, solvents, additives and agitators as required.
• Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects
• Determine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using viscometers
• Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently, and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance
• Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment
• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
• Follow quality service and safety standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
