About The Position

This position requires the operator to maintain control of two 9 ton pressure pour furnaces including monitoring and controlling the temperature of the furnace and the condition of the refractory in the pouring trough. The operator also sets up each production job to pour in automatic mode using PourTech laser pour systems. Requirements

Ability to ensure all parts of RMP’s Quality System for this position are met.
Ability to maintain a clean and uncluttered work area.
Ability to work around molten metal and must wear all required safety equipment.
Ability to understand and follow all safety procedures and requirements.
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more occasionally.
Ability to train and operate a jackhammer.
Ability to use computer controls and equipment that inoculates the molten metal as it enters the mold.

Responsibilities

Maintain control of two 9 ton pressure pour furnaces.
Monitor and control the temperature of the furnace.
Monitor and control the condition of the refractory in the pouring trough.
Set up each production job to pour in automatic mode using PourTech laser pour systems.
Obtain necessary samples of the final iron.
Pour metal test bars.
Ensure all parts of RMP’s Quality System for this position are met.
Maintain a clean and uncluttered work area.
Work around molten metal and must wear all required safety equipment.
Use computer controls and equipment that inoculates the molten metal as it enters the mold.
Understand and follow all safety procedures and requirements.
Lift 50 lbs or more occasionally.
Train and operate a jackhammer.
