About The Position

This role plays a critical part in the overall success of the farm operations within the vaccination crew. This crew has primary responsibilities for the animal care and welfare of the birds. The job involves working with day-old chicks, collecting birds for moving, weighing, and vaccinations. It also requires collecting blood samples, and banding or tagging birds. The role necessitates working with live animals in their associated environment and following strict Animal Care Standards, Animal Welfare Guidelines, and Bio-Security policies and procedures. Additionally, the position involves working with chemicals such as detergents and disinfects, and performing essential duties safely and efficiently as trained. The environment may include farm-related smells, odors, and loud/noisy conditions.

Requirements

• Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple tasks
• Ability to perform work that is repetitive in nature
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrist
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50lbs
• Bend and stoop throughout the shift

Nice To Haves

• Animal husbandry experience preferred but not required
