About The Position

Burnbrae Farms is a sixth-generation, Canadian, family-owned company and a leading egg producer and processor. We work with over 400 independent egg farming families and provide safe, nutritious, and affordable eggs and egg products across Canada. Our operations include farms, grading stations, and processing facilities. We are looking for a Poultry Technician to join our team. This is a full-time permanent role with year-round work available.

Requirements

Ability to work as part of a team
Demonstrates positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
Ability to perform physical tasks that require strength, coordination, and dexterity
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and must be able to lift 10-15 lbs repetitively
Able to show up to work on time and ready to work. Willing to work until the task is complete, which can require longer hours on some shifts. Must have flexibility in respect to scheduling
Ability to execute all tasks in a safe manner
Comfortable around farm animals. Able to adhere to animal welfare standards.

Nice To Haves

Experience with agriculture or farm animals is considered an asset
On the job training will be provided

Responsibilities

Prepare birds for transport from a barn to another site. This can include loading birds into carts and onto transport trucks, as well as unloading birds from carts into the barn
Clean barns and equipment, using high-pressure water and various chemicals
Apply vaccinations to birds
Other farm duties as requested
