Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately enter data in a computer data base
  • Use of instruments including: Bar code scanners
  • Ability to accurately record measurements using the metric system
  • Demonstrate repeatability in physical observations between animal
  • Lift and move 50 pounds
  • work with chemicals, such as detergents, disinfectants
  • Routinely work up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays
  • Routine handling and interacting with live poultry
  • Standing for extended periods of time (6 hours)
  • Grip, grasp or twist using hands and wrists
  • Lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50lbs
  • Bend and stoop repetitively throughout out shift
  • Prolonged exposure to dry and dusty environments
  • Works cooperatively with a team
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility
  • Takes accountability for individual performance
  • Attention to detail
  • Critical Observation skills
  • Aptitude to learn and apply numerous selection criteria and grading
  • Ongoing presence of farm related smells or foul odors
  • Extreme climate exposure both hot and cold
  • Working in damp and/or wet climate

Responsibilities

  • Maintains strict bio security and animal welfare at the farms
  • Observes work performed by Farm Associates to ensure compliance with Animal Welfare standards, ensuring humane handling of birds
  • Report any concerns and issues to via proper company channels
  • Weekly handling of approximately 7,700 live birds
  • Performing defined physical observations on each animal
  • Record physical observation in company database
  • Locate selected birds and move them to proper location
