About The Position

MDE is growing and is looking for talented, educated, and caring postpartum doulas to join their perinatal support team. MDE provides in-home postpartum doula support sessions to assist new parents in caring for their newborns. Postpartum doulas offer emotional and physical support, newborn education, and lactation/feeding support. The role requires a flexible schedule and the ability to provide support on an ad-hoc basis. Successful candidates will be direct communicators, proactive, organized, and self-motivated.

Requirements

• Over 3 years of postpartum doula experience.
• Completed a postpartum doula training.
• Authorization to work in the US.
• A strong understanding of the postpartum period and postpartum healing.
• Foundational breastfeeding education with experience supporting new moms in breastfeeding.
• Exceptional references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity, and high emotional intelligence.
• Professional appearance.
• Fluency in written English.

Nice To Haves

• A postpartum doula and/or lactation certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home postpartum doula support sessions.
• Support new parents with emotional and physical needs.
• Offer postpartum and/or newborn education.
• Provide lactation/feeding support.
• Assist with light housekeeping and tasks related to the newborn baby, such as meal prep, baby laundry, cleaning/sanitizing bottles, and home organization.
• Be open to working in a household team environment, potentially alongside a nanny.

Benefits

• Compensation: $45 per hour
• Paid via direct deposit bi-weekly
