About The Position
MDE is growing and is looking for talented, educated, and caring postpartum doulas to join their perinatal support team. MDE provides in-home postpartum doula support sessions to assist new parents in caring for their newborns. Postpartum doulas offer emotional and physical support, newborn education, and lactation/feeding support. The role requires a flexible schedule and the ability to provide support on an ad-hoc basis. Successful candidates will be direct communicators, proactive, organized, and self-motivated.
Requirements
- Over 3 years of postpartum doula experience.
- Completed a postpartum doula training.
- Authorization to work in the US.
- A strong understanding of the postpartum period and postpartum healing.
- Foundational breastfeeding education with experience supporting new moms in breastfeeding.
- Exceptional references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity, and high emotional intelligence.
- Readiness to help with light housekeeping and all tasks related to the newborn baby.
- Openness to working in a household team.
- A professional appearance.
- Fluency in written English.
Nice To Haves
- Postpartum doula certification.
- Lactation certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-home postpartum doula support sessions.
- Support new parents with emotional and physical needs.
- Offer postpartum and/or newborn education.
- Provide lactation/feeding support.
- Assist with light housekeeping and tasks related to the newborn baby, such as meal prep, baby laundry, cleaning/sanitizing bottles, and home organization.
- Collaborate with other household staff, such as nannies, if present.
