About The Position

The Postdoctoral Scientist will conduct thrombosis-related research in the Thrombosis Research Center within Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s Department of Medicine. The role works independently while cooperating and consulting closely with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientists. During the postdoctoral training period, the scientist will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures and may develop, adapt, and implement research techniques and protocols.

The incumbent will design and perform experiments, analyze and interpret data, develop research protocols, maintain accurate laboratory records, and prepare scientific presentations and manuscripts. The role supports ongoing research efforts and contributes to the continued development of the Thrombosis Research Center. The scientist may assist with grant proposal preparation and participate in publications and presentations as an author or co-author. This position is not responsible for generating grant funds.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree in an area directly related to the field of research specialization.
• Work independently on research projects designed together with the mentor within the area of specialization.
• Acquire technical and theoretical knowledge of research projects and objectives during a one-to-four-year postdoctoral appointment.

Responsibilities

• Keep appropriate experimental records and documentation and analyze results with the Principal Investigator.
• Operate and maintain equipment and instruments.
• Design and perform experiments, as appropriate.
• Analyze, interpret, summarize, and compile data.
• Develop, adapt, and implement research techniques and protocols, as appropriate.
• Prepare scientific presentations and manuscripts and participate in publications and presentations as an author or co-author.
• May assist in preparing grant proposals.
• May observe MD-patient or MD-human research subject interactions when directly related to the research being performed.
