The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is hiring a Postdoctoral Scholar for the Brain Stimulation Division. This role will join a laboratory focused on multimodal characterization (e.g., EEG, fMRI, autonomic physiology) and modulation (e.g., brain stimulation, CBT) of transdiagnostic dysregulation of emotion and cognition. The primary responsibilities will involve an ongoing trial of accelerated, closed-loop EEG-rTMS paired with accelerated CBT for depression and suicide risk. The individual will administer accelerated CBT, conduct structured diagnostic interviewing, and perform neuromodulation sessions using EEG and TMS. Data analysis for cognition and emotion processing tasks, including data quality control, preprocessing, analysis, and manuscript preparation, will also be expected. Opportunities exist to assist with other studies focused on improving regulation of cognition and emotion in healthy participants and patients with neuropsychiatric (e.g., PTSD, addiction) and neurodegenerative (e.g., stroke, dementia) disorders. The position also includes career development mentoring and support for the submission of career development awards.
