The Penn State Department of Public Health Sciences seeks a postdoctoral scholar with experience in quantitative demographic methods and familiarity with research on social predictors of fertility and family size. The scholar will use an original dataset to analyze predictors of family-size variation among the Amish, one of North America’s highest-fertility populations. Working with Dr. Cory Anderson, the scholar will develop, justify, and execute analyses; conduct literature reviews; draft manuscripts; and oversee manuscript submission to demography, social science, and public health journals. The successful candidate will work onsite at the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This is a one-year appointment, renewable for up to three years total; the position is a term appointment, and continuation depends on university need, performance, and/or funding availability.
