Postdoctoral Scholar - GeoGraphics Lab
About The Position
The GeoGraphics Lab in the Department of Geography at The Pennsylvania State University is recruiting a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct research for an NIH-NSF funded project on human health, movement, and infectious diseases. This project is led by PI Dr. Nita Bharti, Director of the Human Infectious Disease Lab in the Department of Biology and the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics, and will be supervised by grant Co-PI Dr. Anthony Robinson in Geography. This position is located on campus full-time at University Park, PA. It is not available for remote work. This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.
Requirements
- Completed PhD degree in Geography, Data Visualization, Epidemiology, Ecology, or a related field.
- Experience in development of Geovisualization tools
- Experience in spatial analysis using GIS
- Experience in Human-Computer Interaction techniques to design and evaluate new mapping systems
- Experience in cartographic design
- Experience in data analysis
- Experience in research communication (written and verbal)
- Creative, interdisciplinary thinkers interested in mapping the dynamics of human health and infectious diseases research are encouraged to apply.
