About The Position

Applications are invited for a new Postdoctoral Scholar position in fluid mechanics and heat transfer, at the Mechanical Engineering Department, Santa Clara University. This is an in-person position at Santa Clara University, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, California. The position is currently available for 12 months, with possible extension depending on the availability of funding. The start date is negotiable. The postdoctoral scholar will join Professor Henry Chu’s research group at Santa Clara. Professor Chu’s research group develops predictive computational tools and conducts experiments to address National Academy of Engineering Grand Challenges in soft matter transport and design.

Requirements

  • PhD in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • Good working knowledge in Colloid and interface science, Thermodynamics, Electrokinetics, Rheology, Mathematical modeling, Direct numerical simulations, Artificial intelligence, and Machine learning.
  • Promising track record of high-quality research, including journal publications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced research environment, independently or in a team.
  • Ability to meet internal or external deadlines.
  • Self-motivated to learn new skills/tools.
