About The Position

The University of Southern California (USC) Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Titus Family Department of Clinical Pharmacy is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar - Research Associate to join ongoing studies on cancer genomics and Therapeutics. This is a translational genomics and experimental therapeutics lab that focuses on identifying and investigating novel therapeutic targets in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and developing new therapeutic strategies. The lab seeks a highly motivated scientist proficient in using routine molecular biology techniques for genomics/epigenomic studies and functional studies in cellular and mouse models. Hands-on experience with high throughput assays and next-generation sequencing-based platforms, and experience in preclinical studies using leukemia mouse models is required. The candidate should also have a strong background in cancer biology, immunology, and computational biology, bioinformatics, or biostatistics. Computational skills, including experience with bioinformatic tools and packages, are needed. Experience with data mining, especially for ‘omics’ datasets, or developing pipelines/software for large biological datasets is desired.

Requirements

  • Ph.D.

Responsibilities

  • Processing and analyses of clinical samples
  • Conducting cellular, molecular, and in vivo experiments for hypothesis-driven research
  • Performing computational and bioinformatic analyses
  • Preparing presentations and publishing scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator
  • Submitting their own fellowship and grant applications
