A Postdoctoral Scholar position is available in the Department of Microbiology, Genetics, & Immunology to work in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Abramovitch. The postdoctoral scholar will conduct research examining Mycobacterium tuberculosis and nontuberculous mycobacterial pathogenesis and drug development. These studies will focus on chemical biology and genetic studies examining MmpL3 inhibition and resistance and nitroreductase-dependent inhibitors in mycobacteria. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to interact with a wide range of researchers in microbiology, biochemistry, chemistry and pharmacology and toxicology. The postdoctoral scholar will be supported by the MSU Research Foundation Postdoctoral Scholar Program. This program includes professional development activities and two years of funding support. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term position with reappointment contingent on satisfactory performance and available funding.
