About The Position

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is hiring a Postdoctoral Researcher. This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds. The candidate will carry out research in the group led by Dr. Akhil Vaidya in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. The work will consist of molecular and cell biology of malaria parasites involving application of advance techniques such as genetic manipulations of malaria parasites, live cell imaging, and cryo-electron microscopic structural studies.

Requirements

  • PhD in microbiology or related fields.
  • Experience in having worked with malaria parasites.
  • Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Microbiology or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out research in the group led by Dr. Akhil Vaidya in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
  • Conduct molecular and cell biology of malaria parasites.
  • Apply advanced techniques such as genetic manipulations of malaria parasites, live cell imaging, and cryo-electron microscopic structural studies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
