About The Position

This position is for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Altieri lab. The primary function is to utilize training in structural biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology to design and execute experiments related to an NIH-sponsored research project. The role involves collecting and assembling data, developing and testing scientific hypotheses independently, performing and delegating experimental procedures, analyzing results, and preparing reports. The fellow will communicate research findings through abstracts, manuscripts, grant proposals, and presentations for local and national meetings. The position also requires interacting with co-workers and staff consistent with Jefferson's iSCORE values.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in structural biology and molecular biology
• Previous experience in an academic lab setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects and assembles data for oral or written presentations.
• Independently develops scientific hypotheses related to ongoing work in the laboratory.
• Independently designs experiments to test hypotheses.
• Independently carries out or delegates procedures for experiments.
• Analyzes results of experiments independently.
• Prepares oral and written reports for the P.I. on research, including abstracts, manuscripts, grant proposals, and data reports for grants and oral presentations.
• Performs routine and more difficult procedures, analyzes data, and coherently presents results.
• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.
