About The Position

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct independent cell biology research on the impacts of nanoplastics while providing technical support to the Image Analysis Laboratory. Under general supervision and guidance, the role uses high-resolution microscopy techniques, with a focus on sample preparation and imaging by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Work includes tissue processing, resin embedding, ultramicrotomy, and heavy metal staining to produce ultrathin sections and high-resolution transmission electron micrographs. The position also organizes and catalogs specimens and data and assists with the daily operation and maintenance of the ultramicrotome and TEM. The role analyzes research data, summarizes results, publishes findings, and writes grant proposals. It also supports TEM services, maintains sample tracking and project documentation, prepares research presentations, and participates in technical progress reports for sponsors. The associate may mentor or supervise student and graduate researchers. The position is onsite in College Station, Texas, on a full-time Monday–Friday schedule.
