About The Position

As one of the fastest-growing academic health centers in the nation, Texas A&M Health encompasses five colleges and numerous centers and institutes working together to improve health through transformative education, innovative research and team-based health care delivery. The Postdoctoral Research Associate conducts research into their field of expertise. Utilizes the skills and expertise granted to them by their education and experience to complete research projects in their field of expertise. Assists in the implementation of ongoing grants, helps with project management, conducts data analysis and writes papers. Writings may include contributing to research papers, articles, and publications. May collaborate with other researchers and/or faculty.

Requirements

  • Appropriate PhD with a focus on occupational health and safety
  • Citi human subject research training and applicable laboratory safety training
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze data using standard statistical software
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, is responsible for conducting research into their field of expertise.
  • Utilizes knowledge and skills granted to them by their education and expertise to complete research projects in their field of expertise.
  • Assists with the management of the ongoing projects.
  • Assists with research project data collection.
  • Analyzes and conducts research data and summarizes results.
  • Contributes to research papers, articles, and publications and other written assignments as needed.
  • Generates and submits research proposals for internal and external funding.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assists in the coordination of assigned project.
  • Tracks and monitors project grants and funding.
  • Assists with project development.
  • Creates, establishes, and maintains project files, databases, correspondence, and project materials.
  • May assist, mentor, and/or supervise student researchers and/or graduate students who are working on research related to the project.
  • Prepares presentation materials on research topic that may be presented to small and/or large groups.
  • Actively participates in the preparation of required technical progress reports to research sponsors.
