The Texas A&M Institute for Genome Sciences and Society (TIGSS) aims to improve the lives of humans and animals and advance agricultural productivity through genome research. We function as a virtual institute to unite genome scientists with researchers in the field of genomics technology and bioinformatics science. The work we do will shape the future of the field of genome sciences and the world. We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team and contribute to cutting-edge genomics research. In this role, you will apply your expertise in molecular biology and computational genomics to support advanced research initiatives, with a primary focus on quality control and initial data handling for next-generation sequencing datasets. The successful candidate will independently interpret QC metrics, troubleshoot sequencing issues, and support the growing volume and complexity of genomics projects. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with both wet-lab and computational scientists, coordinate client-focused research projects, contribute to scientific publications and presentations, and provide the scientific expertise needed to support advanced bioinformatics analyses. We are looking for candidates with a PhD, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and presentation experience. Familiarity with high-throughput data generation, next-generation sequencing technologies, and sequencing quality control metrics is essential. This is an exciting opportunity for a researcher who enjoys working at the intersection of science, technology, and collaborative discovery.
