About The Position

Texas A&M’s Department of Physics and Astronomy is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate who will contribute to the C-SCAPE project and other related research initiatives, including framework development, physics and statistical analysis, scholarly publications, conference presentations, student mentorship, and outreach activities.

Requirements

  • PhD in Theoretical Nuclear Physics.
  • Familiarity with QCD theory, heavy ion physics, Monte Carlo event generation techniques.
  • Experience using and developing JETSCAPE event generator code, C++, Python.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the C-SCAPE project and related research initiatives through framework development, physics and statistical analysis, and other project-related activities.
  • Contribute to publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at professional conferences.
  • Participate in outreach activities as needed and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
