About The Position

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct astronomical research and contribute to research proposals. This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.

Requirements

  • PhD in Astronomy, Physics, or Astrophysics.
  • Experience in astronomical data reduction and analysis, astrophysical theory, or astronomical instrumentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct original astronomical research.
  • Contribute to research proposals.
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Analyze and submit work in peer-reviewed journals and at conferences.
