The University of Arizona's Department of Psychology invites applications for the role of Postdoctoral Research Associate. This position will primarily focus on two research projects: (1) investigating the links between sources of interdependence, perceived shared fate, cooperation, social integration, and physical/mental well-being among the Mayangna people of Northern Nicaragua, and (2) a cross-cultural survey on interdependence, shared fate, and cooperation. These projects aim to understand the cognitive architecture of positive fitness interdependence, its cultural variations, and its impact on well-being. The Postdoctoral Researcher will also contribute to other ongoing projects, receive mentorship and professional development, and co-mentor students. There is an opportunity for fieldwork in Northern Nicaragua (less than 8 weeks per year), an area with limited resources and internet access. The ability to conduct this fieldwork is preferred but not required. The Department of Psychology, part of the School of Mind, Brain, and Behavior within the College of Science, is dedicated to advancing scientific research and training. The department fosters interdisciplinary collaboration with other programs and departments. The University of Arizona offers comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid time off, tuition reduction, and access to recreational and cultural activities.
