Postdoctoral Research Associate - Developmental Neurobiology - Proteostasis and muscle-brain signaling during aging
About The Position
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join Dr. Fabio Demontis’s group in the Department of Developmental Neurobiology in Memphis, Tennessee. The lab uses mice and Drosophila to investigate conserved mechanisms of muscle aging and proteostasis, and how muscle-derived signals (myokines) affect proteostasis and the progression of age-related diseases in the central nervous system. The fellow will conduct research in a highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment and have access to St. Jude’s research facilities, shared resources, and expert scientists. The institution also offers professional and career development programs for postdoctoral trainees. Requirements
- A recently awarded or upcoming Ph.D.
- Expertise in molecular, biochemical, and cell biological techniques.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong desire to make a major contribution to the field of aging and neurobiology.
- Must not have already started postdoctoral training elsewhere.
Nice To Haves
- Training in Drosophila neurobiology and tauopathy is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
