About The Position

Carnegie Mellon University’s Neuroscience Institute seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to develop research methods and conduct testing and data collection, analysis, and evaluation. The role includes preparing reports with descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content. The associate will conduct research within the department’s and university’s predetermined scope and methodology, and may contribute to scientific manuscripts, presentations, and grant writing. Depending on the research area and specialty, the role may also include laboratory and equipment maintenance and ordering supplies.

Requirements

Doctorate degree.
Graduate-level research experience.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and reasoning skills.
A combination of education and proven experience demonstrating comparable knowledge may be considered.

Responsibilities

Conduct research experiments within the predetermined research scope and methodology of the department and university.
Collect and analyze data, including conducting periodic literature searches and applying specialized skills in related fields.
Participate in or assist with manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations.
May assist in grant writing.
Depending on the area and specialty, maintain the laboratory and equipment and order supplies.
Develop research methods and conduct testing, data collection, analysis, and evaluation, and write descriptive, analytical, and evaluative reports.
