About The Position

A postdoctoral researcher position is available to study viral pathogenesis and virus-host interactions of a wide range of pathogens, including arboviruses, paramyxoviruses, and poxviruses in the Lim lab at the Department of Microbiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY. The Lim lab is embedded in a highly collaborative and intellectually active virology community. We are seeking highly motivated candidates with a Ph.D. in virology, immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, or a related field; recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. The candidate will be expected to drive independent research projects in close consultation with the PI and to lead manuscripts for publication. The candidate will join an existing team of researchers and will have the opportunity to be appointed to NIH-funded T32 training grants and to develop independent research projects. Individuals who intend to follow a career in academic science are especially encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in virology, immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, or a related field.
  • MD or PhD

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in virology is preferred.
  • Expertise in animal models, bioinformatics and/or advanced genomics approaches (single-cell RNA-sequencing, spatial transcriptomics) is advantageous.
  • Individuals who intend to follow a career in academic science are especially encouraged to apply.
