The Merad and Puleston Laboratories are seeking highly motivated postdocs to lead projects related to targeting age-driven myeloid dysfunction in cancer. This project explores the immune effects of GLP1 receptor agonists (semaglutide and tirzepatide) in aging and disease. Our findings show that GLP1 treatment reduces inflammaging and rescues age-related loss of resident alveolar macrophages, with the goal of applying these findings to patients. Using state-of-the-art in vivo stable isotope tracing technology, the incoming candidate will also explore how incretins modulate immune cell metabolism.
