Developmental and RNA biology of protozoan pathogens. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist with interests in molecular mechanisms of RNA processing and their roles in the development of Trypanosomatid pathogens. The project will use a combination of complementary genetic, molecular, cellular, protein structure/function, and informatic methods. Responsibilities include literature review, experimental design and performing experiments, data analysis, and preparation of reports and manuscripts. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in cellular and molecular biology, especially with respect to protozoan pathogens, and expertise in basic cell and molecular biological techniques. The ideal candidate will be independent, motivated and hard-working. Strong written and verbal communication skills, the abilities to establish clear goals, organize and prioritize research, work with a diverse and collaborative team, and thrive within a multi-disciplinary environment are critical. The PI is committed to trainees’ career development and will provide opportunities for the successful candidate to compete for fellowships, high-profile publications, and academic awards.
