About The Position

The Radiology AI & Informatics Group is seeking a Postdoctoral Physician-Scientist Research Fellow in the Department of Diagnostic, Molecular, and Interventional Radiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. This position will focus on multimodal AI for prostate cancer imaging. The research fellow will contribute to federally funded and institutionally supported research programs that develop and validate AI-driven tools to improve prostate cancer detection, characterization, and treatment guidance. This is an excellent opportunity to conduct innovative AI research powered by large-scale, real-world clinical data and to work directly with a team of AI scientists and world-renowned clinicians in radiology, pathology, and urology, gaining cross-disciplinary expertise that accelerates translational AI research from bench to bedside. The clinically trained Physician-Scientist Research Fellow will serve as the clinical anchor of our AI research, working alongside computer scientists, engineers, biostatisticians, and radiologists to ensure that the datasets, models, and validation studies are clinically meaningful and positioned for real-world impact.

Requirements

  • MD or MD/PhD
  • Strong interest in medical AI and translational research
  • Excellent skills at the interface of clinical and technical teams

Nice To Haves

  • Radiology training
  • Familiarity with prostate mpMRI and PI-RADS
  • Clinical-research methodology experience
  • Programming is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Curating and quality-controlling multimodal imaging and clinical datasets from PACS and the EHR.
  • Defining study cohorts through chart review and clinical phenotyping and linking imaging to reference standards such as biopsy and whole-mount pathology.
  • Developing annotation protocols/pipeline and establish ground truth.
  • Designing clinical validation and reader studies with appropriate endpoints and analysis plans.
  • Coordinating and managing radiology fellows and attending radiologists in multi-reader studies.
  • Analyzing diagnostic-performance results and leading manuscripts, abstracts, and grant applications.
