Postdoctoral positions are available for highly motivated researchers interested in cardio-oncology, cardiotoxicity related to cancer therapy, cardiovascular inflammation, and heart failure biology. The position will support NIH-funded research focused on defining the molecular, cellular, and immune mechanisms through which cancer therapies contribute to cardiac injury, adverse remodeling, and impaired cardiac function. Successful candidates will participate in studies investigating how anticancer therapies affect cardiomyocyte stress and injury, mitochondrial dysfunction, inflammatory signaling, immune-cell activation, and cardiac remodeling. Research will use translational mouse models of cancer therapy–associated cardiotoxicity together with cardiac functional phenotyping, molecular and cellular assays, flow cytometry, histology, and genomic approaches. Depending on the candidate’s background and interests, projects may incorporate bulk RNA sequencing, single-cell RNA sequencing, immune profiling, and computational analysis to identify cellular and molecular pathways that drive susceptibility to cardiotoxicity and heart failure.
