About The Position

The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee. Works as part of an interdisciplinary team of researchers at the College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS). Performs supporting research and creative activities such as data analysis, monitoring outcomes, performing lab maintenance, and/or performing experiments. Independently contributes to the planning and design of research and creative projects. Assists in both short-term and long-term planning and project goals, as well as proposal development and dissemination of project findings. Duties are specifically related to research activities, require an advanced level of knowledge in a field of science or learning, are predominantly intellectual and varied in character, and require consistent use of discretion and judgment. This position will support CCHS in fostering educational programs that prepare learners in population health principles and scholarship in medical education. Conducts innovative, community-based participatory research that influences population health and supports collaboration to address community health problems.

Requirements

  • PhD or other terminal degree relevant to translational research
  • Background in population research, clinical investigation, and implementation science
  • Ability to conduct independent and collaborative research
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • Strong scientific writing skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of protected health information and follow HIPAA regulations at all times
