About The Position

The Postdoctoral Fellow - Biomedical Engineering will lead the development and optimization of complex cell sorting protocols, integrating advanced technologies such as flow cytometry and microfluidics to enhance precision and throughput. The Fellow will design and conduct experiments in molecular and cellular biology, assist in sorting platform development, perform molecular and in vivo characterization of sorted cells, analyze large-scale bioinformatics datasets to identify novel cell subsets and biomarkers, and collaborate with interdisciplinary experts to address pressing research questions. Additionally, they will assist in proposal development, manage day-to-day lab operations, and supervise graduate students. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biophysics, Cell Biology, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment
• Experience with laboratory safety protocols and good research practices
• Basic proficiency in data analysis or computational tools relevant to the project
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

• Experience in mechanobiology, cell mechanics, or a related area
• Experience with confocal microscopy, traction force microscopy, molecular tension sensors, or other force-measurement methods
• Experience with fluorescent activated cell sorting or characterization of cell subpopulations
• Experience with in vivo mouse tumor models
• Experience mentoring or training students
