About The Position

Scripps Research is seeking a talented, highly motivated postdoctoral candidate with a strong interest in basic virology and immunology. The successful candidate will join a team investigating virus-host interactions, focusing on cellular antiviral responses and molecular signatures associated with severe disease. Research will use systems biology and large-scale technologies—including CRISPR/RNAi, proteomics and chemoproteomics, chemical biology, and next-generation sequencing—along with fundamental virology, cellular and molecular biology, and biochemistry approaches. The Postdoctoral Associate is expected to contribute intellectually, technically, and scientifically to research projects; assist with grant applications and manuscript preparation; and contribute to additional lab projects. This appointment is intended to develop scholarly competence under the supervision of a Scripps Research faculty member. Appointments are normally not renewed beyond a total of five years. External funding applications as a PI or Co-PI require prior approval from a Departmental Chair, and postdoctoral associates do not have consulting privileges. The position is supported by NIH funding.
