About The Position

Duke University School of Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for Matt Hilton's lab. This position is funded by an NIH grant and focuses on understanding the molecular regulation of post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA)-associated joint degeneration and pain. Requirements

  • A PhD is required.
  • Prior experience working with murine models of PTOA-associated cartilage catabolism and pain using pharmacologic treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Use (JAK inhibitors), histological (SafO/Fast Green and H&E stains), IHC or IF staining for cartilage catabolic and pain-related molecules, as well as cellular (cartilage and dorsal root ganglia explant cultures) and molecular (qPCR, RNA-seq) analyses.
  • Generate data associated with the pharmacologic regulation of JAK signaling in PTOA-associated cartilage catabolism and pain.
  • Aid in the analysis and interpretation of that data.
  • Participate in manuscript preparations and revisions, and present data.
