The Postdoctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Postdoctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community. This candidate will have a strong applied biochemistry foundation with training in biostatistics, R-based analysis, and bioinformatics in human proteomics and genomics. The ideal candidate pairs strong wet-lab execution across biochemical and cell-based systems with computational tools who can design high-quality experiments, interpret multidimensional outputs with translational relevance. The candidate should be trained in writing scientific publications and grant funding proposals, and mentoring of students at all levels in the laboratory and classroom. The candidate will have expertise in polymeric materials, drug delivery, and implantable devices, who can design and develop biocompatible and biodegradable platforms for controlled and sustained release of small molecules and biologics. The role will lead formulation and materials selection, 3D printing and fabrication of drug-loaded constructs and implantable device prototypes, in vitro characterization (physicochemical properties, drug loading, release kinetics, stability, and performance testing), and preclinical study planning and data interpretation, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate concepts into validated prototypes. Responsibilities also include rigorous documentation and scientific communication (reports, manuscripts, and presentations) and mentoring of trainees in best laboratory practices and experimental design. The candidate should be trained in writing grant funding proposals.
