The Rockefeller Institute of Government, the public policy research arm of the State University of New York, conducts research and analysis on federal, state, and local policy issues. Its Regional Gun Violence Research Consortium (RGVRC), established in 2018, is a coalition of more than 160 gun violence researchers and practitioners. The Consortium provides evidence-based, data-driven recommendations to policymakers and the public to help disrupt firearm-involved homicides, suicides, and injuries. The Postdoctoral Associate will support existing and new sponsored research projects and help expand the Institute’s in-house expertise on firearm violence and related policies. The role includes identifying or developing datasets, conducting quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed-methods analyses, meeting with collaborators and stakeholders, and helping write and present research outputs such as papers and blogs. The fellow will work under the supervision of Consortium and Institute leadership and collaborate with RGVRC researchers and staff, consortium members, other Institute team members, policymakers, agencies, and the public. This is a temporary position of up to 24 months. The annual salary range is $73,000–$85,000, depending on factors including experience, education, training, and certifications. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship is not available. The position is represented by the United University Professions Union and has the state title Postdoctoral Associate (SL-1).
