About The Position

A Postdoctoral Associate Position in Computational Genomics within the Centers for Systems Immunology (CSI) and the Department of Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh is available with Prof. Harinder Singh, Director of the CSI. The selected candidate will focus on the assembly and simulated perturbations of human B cell gene regulatory networks (GRNs) using multiomic datasets and neural network models. A major focus will be the prediction of regulatory nodes that control the generation and perdurance of antibody secreting plasma cells. Candidates will work directly alongside the assigned Department Faculty and will develop skills in a wide variety of techniques as described above. This position will perform experiments in the lab performing analysis of the regulatory logic of transcription factors orchestrating human plasma cell differentiation and survival of the cells. This position will also assist with ordering lab supplies via Panther Express, and assist with the training of Graduate Student Researchers, Research Technicians and Pitt Undergraduate Student Workers with their own research projects. This position will attend national and international research seminars to present their research project results and findings. The candidate will also develop several career-related skill sets, including manuscript preparation, oral presentations, and grant writing.

Requirements

• Recently earned a PhD or MD Degree in the field of Computational Immunology, Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biosciences or a related field.
• Outstanding computational skills.
• Outstanding critical biological reasoning skills.
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
• Effective written and verbal English communication skills.

• Experience in Computational and Systems Biology.
