About The Position

The Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community. This role involves working on the Firefighter Cancer Initiative & Innovation Project, designing and developing innovative biochemical detection assays, conducting experimental studies, integrating bioinformatics tools, performing data analysis, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The position also includes preparing scientific findings for publication and presentation, maintaining documentation, ensuring compliance, and mentoring graduate students.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in relevant field required

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned.
  • Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
  • Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
  • Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  • Design and develop innovative biochemical detection assays to support research objectives.
  • Conduct experimental studies and generate high-quality biological data.
  • Integrate bioinformatics tools and pipelines with experimental data generation.
  • Perform data integration, management, and advanced analysis of complex datasets.
  • Evaluate and interpret clinical parameters in relation to laboratory findings.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including researchers, clinicians, and data scientists.
  • Prepare and present scientific findings through publications, reports, and presentations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of experimental procedures and results.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in mentoring graduate students and supporting the academic mission of the program.
