Postdoc Fellow
About The Position
The Xu lab at the department of Veterinary Biosciences is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar with expertise in viral research and antibody discovery to join our interdisciplinary team focused on understanding antibody-antigen interactions and advancing vaccine and therapeutic design for viral diseases and other diseases that affect both humans and animals. The successful candidate will be involved in the viral entry study, as well as antibody discovery and characterization. Responsibilities will include setting up virology study, and antibody functional study. The postdoc will collaborate closely with researchers in immunology and related fields, contribute to publications and grant writing, and will have the opportunity to explore independent research projects aligned with the lab’s goals. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about our research.
Requirements
- Ph.D. with hands-on experience with viral study and antibody functional characterization
- Proven ability to carry out related experiments
- Strong background in molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and other characterization methods
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
Nice To Haves
- Experience in virology study
- Experience in antibody functional analysis
- Prior work on antibody engineering or rational design
- Experience mentoring junior researchers or supervising laboratory personnel
