About The Position

This position is responsible for the sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail and packages, as well as the supervision of student mail clerks. The role involves a variety of tasks related to mail handling, customer service, and administrative support within the Post Office.

  • Must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Must be an active member of a local Bible believing church which holds orthodox theology.

  • Previous experience in customer service type environment preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience with cash register and money handling preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role over other workers preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervision and assistance in all mail clerk duties.
  • Sort incoming mail from various outside carriers as well as campus sources.
  • Computer entry of all incoming parcels.
  • Distribute mail to post office boxes in various locations on campus.
  • Distribute parcels while logging them out of the computer system.
  • Look up mail on the computer for correct campus address information.
  • Forward mail to addressees who are no longer at this address.
  • Update address and box label information as needed.
  • Assist with counter sales, including selling stamps.
  • Weigh, price, and ship outgoing packages.
  • Meter outgoing U.S. mail.
  • Package shipments for customers or campus departments.
  • Repair Post Office box locks.
  • Manage inventory of office supplies.
  • Problem-solve customer and worker conflicts.
  • Assist managers in the selection of new employees.
  • Drive a company vehicle.
  • Provide basic oversight of all mail clerks.
  • Assist carriers in parcel pickups and deliveries.
