About The Position

Guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. This role involves patrolling industrial or commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates. The Post Guard will respond to alarms, investigate disturbances, and monitor surveillance cameras. They will also be responsible for writing reports of daily activities and irregularities, calling emergency services when necessary, and providing customer service to clients and the public. The role requires the ability to warn persons of rule infractions, apprehend or evict violators, and secure buildings by locking doors and gates. Additionally, Post Guards must follow post orders and respond to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid or obtaining assistance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma - or the equivalent (for example, GED)
• Guard Card required
• Knowledge of Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
• Knowledge of English Language - including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
• Knowledge of Customer and Personal Service - principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Monitor surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Use provided communication devices to relay information in a clear and concise manner.
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Provide satisfactory customer service to clients and other members of the public.
• Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.
• Lock doors and gates of entrances and exits to secure buildings.
• Follow post orders and all other relevant site-related information.
• Respond to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid or by obtaining assistance from paramedics.
