GlobalFoundries is seeking a New College Graduate Equipment Engineer to join our post-fab manufacturing team in Essex Junction, Vermont. In this role, you will support semiconductor manufacturing equipment and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability, performance, safety, and operational efficiency. This fully onsite position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing technologies while developing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a high-volume production environment.
Requirements
- Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related equipment-focused engineering field from an accredited degree program.
- Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.
- English (Written & Verbal) language fluency.

- Prior related internship or co-op experience.
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
- Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.
- Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning & organizational skills
- Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, automation, or manufacturing systems.
- Familiarity with data analysis, structured problem-solving, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement methods.
Responsibilities
- Support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and analyze data to identify opportunities to improve reliability, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues, root cause investigations, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in equipment installations, qualifications, upgrades, and manufacturing readiness activities.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Facilities, Process Engineering, Quality, and supplier teams to resolve technical issues and support production objectives.
- Develop and maintain equipment documentation, procedures, specifications, and maintenance strategies.
- Support engineering projects focused on safety, equipment uptime, cycle time, and operational excellence.
- Collect, analyze, and present technical data to support engineering decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
