The Biostatistics Division in the College of Public Health seeks a postdoctoral scholar to conduct methodological research in infectious disease epidemiology. The research focuses on developing practical and computationally efficient methods to adapt and fit survival-analysis models to infectious disease transmission data and other outbreak and epidemic data, including genetic sequences. Data may be at the household or population level. Methodological topics may include causal inference, model diagnostics, estimating secondary attack risks or infectiousness profiles, estimating reproduction numbers, and tracking population-level infection spread. Approximately 80% of the position is devoted to theoretical derivations, simulation studies, implementing methods in open-source software, preparing manuscripts, and giving presentations. The remaining 20% is devoted to training and mentorship, including grant-writing experience and informal mentorship of a Graduate Research Associate. The position is contingent on funding and will end on or before three years of employment; renewal may be possible depending on continued funding and performance.
