About The Position

The Department of Microbial Infection & Immunity at The Ohio State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct research on the effect of neutrophil metabolism on antitumor immunity. This role involves designing, conducting, and evaluating experiments, developing new laboratory methods, and analyzing data. The scholar will also be involved in writing research papers, presenting findings at scientific meetings, and assisting with grant proposals and training other lab members.

Requirements

  • MD, PhD, or MD/PhD required.
  • Ability to interact in a highly multidisciplinary environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cellular biology, molecular biology, flow cytometry research techniques and procedures desired.
  • Experience with animal handling and husbandry desired.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, conducts, and evaluates research experiments.
  • Plans and executes advanced cellular biology, molecular biology, flow cytometry research techniques and procedures.
  • Develops, adopts and implements new laboratory methods.
  • Analyzes and interprets data.
  • Writes research papers for publication.
  • Performs scientific literature searches.
  • Presents research findings at local, national, or international scientific meetings.
  • Applies for postdoctoral fellowships.
  • Assists PI with writing and submitting grant proposals to obtain extramural funding in support of research.
  • Participates in journal clubs, laboratory meetings, and Department seminars and activities.
  • Assists with training of other lab members.
