Post-Doctoral Research Associate: Department of Chemistry - UTK

University of Tennessee•Knoxville Township, IA
•$60,000 - $65,000•Onsite

About The Position

The position of Postdoctoral Research Associate is open in the research group of Prof. Konstantinos Vogiatzis in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in collaboration with the Y-12 National Security Complex. The researcher will perform atomistic simulations of materials for catalytic applications. All candidates must have successfully defended and submitted their dissertation before their employment date. The search starts immediately and continues until the position is filled. The researcher will be responsible to develop, test, and deploy computational workflows for atomistic modeling of chemical processed on material surfaces related to catalytic applications and collaborate with researchers from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Y-12 National Security Complex. Research will involve feedback loops between theory and experiment, evaluating chemical reaction networks and catalytic mechanisms. Position may require security clearance.
