About The Position

This position involves conducting toxicology research to meet the aims of NIH-funded research. The associate will assist in experimental design, carry out experiments, collect and analyze data, and prepare written and oral dissemination of results. The role requires working with faculty, administrators, and students, and involves laboratory work with potential exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases. Some work may be conducted in a hot and humid environment.

Requirements

Ph.D. in toxicology, biology, or related field.
1-3 years of experience with cell culture and/or zebrafish toxicology research.
Experience in the use of statistical analysis software.
Ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators, and students.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be willing to wear proper personal protective equipment when needed (gloves, lab coat, safety glasses).

Nice To Haves

Experience with handling and properly disposing of biohazards and hazardous waste.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development of protocols and experimental designs.
Conduct experiments on toxicity of PFAS chemicals.
Contribute to maintenance and breeding of fish populations and/or cell culture lines to be used in these experiments.
Oversee planning and management of data collection.
Perform statistical analysis of data.
Disseminate evaluation results through peer-reviewed publications and oral presentations.
Supervise undergraduate/graduate research assistants.
Work with microscopy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
